meg is biking from our house to queen anne this week while she's in town working on rivers. I mean, how cool is that, working on rivers? Who gets to do that?

anyway, i occasionally - read about 3 times a year - use my bike, the bike I've had since I was 13 years old, to go to work about 1.5 miles each way. it is flat, no hills, smooth sailing all the way. it takes me 10 minutes. she is using my bike to go about 5 miles, with hills, in downtown traffic. eek!
