Friday Pop Quiz: Why are you still single?

And now it's time for a little weekend humor.

Favorite Question at Parties: Why are you still single?

2nd Favorite Question at Parties: Do you have any prospects?

( I really am not bitter about this question, I laugh at it, but honestly, I get this one a lot. My reply is of course, yes, half the world is guys and I love them all, but....if you can keep yourself from asking this question, you will get major points in the friend basket. )

So in order to answer these lovely questioners, I went to take a quiz on Tickle, which is actually a site that caused two of my friends to marry each other. No joke. I'm against online dating, or i would try it.

According to Tickle's test, I am still single because I don't want to commit to anyone. I already knew about my fear of commitment, so this isn't surprising, but I was surprised to see it come up on the test as the reason. Makes me wonder what other reasons there are. You should take the test and let me know what you get.

I had to include the whole thing for your benefit and amusement. I like that tickle.com is giving me psychological advice.

Don't Want To Slow Down

Whether you're working all hours, busy with school, or planning a cross-country move, it sounds like you just don't have time for anyone else in your life...right now, that is. Your timing may be off in other aspects, too. Chances are, you've met that perfect person who just so happens to be married or planning their own cross-country move. So take a step back for a moment. Is there something underlying this? Could it be you're afraid to get involved for some reason or another, and are therefore attracted to people who are simply unavailable?

Whether you're secretly sabotaging yourself or not, try a little exercise. Open your mind to those who are around you (and available!) right now. Then let up on your schedule to let that someone in. That is, unless you want to get married to your goals, and not Mr. or Mrs. Right.

I'm not so sure I buy into all of that subconscious, secretly afraid stuff, but who knows? It kinda fits, though ... I'm not sure that I've ever been as busy as I am now. I'm okay with that, though. ;)

I hear this one loud and clear....I think the curse of being an older child is that we feel a drive to do everything, all the time, at once. Even if we're doing fun things, we're busy doing something.
